How To Make Your Own Cell Phone Wallpapers
It can be expensive and/or impersonal to buy wallpaper/pictures Cell Phone companies
or even other Cell Phone wallpaper sites offer. Why not find or create the perfect
image and send it to your phone yourself! This means even
if you don't have a camera phone you can have a cute family picture on your phones screen.
You can even use wallpaper or gifs from my sites easily! I personally like using some of the SayClub animations I have posted around my sites for cell wallpaper
Step 1 - Obtain Cell Phone wallpaper size
Just to make things difficult LOL the size of the screen varies from company and phone to phone.
So, the first thing you must do is find the dimensions for your cellphone. No worries this is pretty simple!
I did a Google search and found my Samsung X497
has a screen resolution of 128 x 160 px at the very first site!
Edit: For a Birthday present I
recieved a Motorola RAZR V3 (pink) and
I found out it has these resolutions.
Internal Resolution: 176×220
External Resolution: 96×80
Step 2 - Modify the wallpaper accordingly
This is where you get to be creative! Of coarse you can simply look for
an already available image that is the right dimensions and send it to your phone if you are not familiar
with editting graphics. But there are many programs that will atleast resize pictures for you real simply.
I suggest ACDSee. But there are many you probably already have a program on your computer that will do this.
For those who wish to create something locate a picture that you enjoy(photo, PSP Tube, gif, clipart, whatever),
modify it and do something creative with it...Then crop the size to the above dimensions or
whatever the displayable size of your phone's screen is.
Note:
Some phones have additional options for your cell phones wallpaper.
- Strech: When a image is stretched it fits to the entire screen but may appear pixilated
- Tile: I personally like this one for my PC desktop an have tons of wallpaper available in this formate that repeats the image like a tile floor. My cell does not have this option but I wish it did.
Step 3 - Apply the wallpaper on to your mobile phone.
Many Cell Phones have an email address associated with it that you can send images right
from your PC email. If your not sure if your cell has email check! Some phones
you can just type in the URL or web address and download directly via the internet/bluetooth . And many
have Data Transfer Cable that can hook your phone to your PC. I would check with your Cell phone provider
and have them explain any "Data Transfer Charges" These fees usually apply even if you are buying an image
so if your wallpaper is free but the Transfer isn't you are still saving money. I currently have Cingular service and have a package that includes
Text Messages, Multimedia Messages (I would use this to recieve images from email) as well as internet Data Transfer.
